Boy Scout camping Pt. 1

Last weekend, I went camping and it was pretty fun. My Boy Scout troop had been preparing to go camping for a few weeks. The Wednesday before, my dad and I dedicated 2 hours to purchasing the food for the camp out. In our troop, we select one person to buy all the food for the entire weekend, known as the "grubmaster". The grubmaster can receive a refund from the troop of $12 per person that they are buying food for.

On Friday, while I was studying for a test for a class, my dad drove thirty minutes to the campsite. By the time we arrived, it was already dark and I had trouble getting my things moved. However, my tenting partner had already set up the tent so at least I didn't have to set up a tent. I read on my kindle for two hours until Cracker Barrel, where the adults provided Cup of Noodles and Hot Cocoa. At about ten I finally slept.

I woke up many times in the middle of the night cycling between attempting to sleep, sleeping, waking up, checking the time on my kindle, and laboriously taking the 100 meter run to the bathroom without properly putting on my shoes. In total, I woke up to use the bathroom 9 times! I woke up at seven to see the sunrise and peacefully waited for everyone else to leave their tents.

Scary books and a few more days off from school

Two weeks ago I read a really scary book. I thought about it all day and didn't want to go to sleep for fear of nightmares. Right now, most of the fear has subsided and life is back to normal. During that time, I actually was afraid to go back to Barnes and Nobles. However, on Monday, school was out and I decided to try my luck at Barnes and Nobles again. My decision was made at 4 o'clock and I read books until 6 o'clock. Actually, no, I think that most of the time was me just looking for the right book. I don't have a watch, but I believe that I might have spent 30 minutes staring, wandering, and reading blurbs. After a while, I just went to the Manga section and easily found something good to read, which tends to happen a lot. With novels, I'm not patient enough to read past the first page. With Manga, I've never stopped reading because I was bored, only if I was scared or was forced to leave. The only problem is that it breaks my neck. After a neck-breaking 90 minutes, I left the bookstore, but felt like it had been much longer than that.
