hi let's play

today we are doing something interesting it is called no shifts. as in no holding down the shift KEY. that one didn't count it was just something i like to call CAPS LOCK. so i will try to write something without pressing the shift key even once. I will have to remember to USE the CAPS lOck or just risk the fatal grammar arror, he he hee. ANYWAY, WHY DO I ALWAYS SAY THAT11111111111111  by the way, i can't use the number lock because it is not on my computer. WELL WE'LL  have so much FUN, YAY111111111 here it GOes.

we shall start with math. what is 10610000/ 'teacher, teacher,' said one of the students, 'don't you mean 10 raised to the power of 10000/' 'yes, yes i mean that.' 'then why don't you write that1' asked a student. 'never mind that just tell me the answer,' 'okay, it is 1 followed by 10000 zeroes.'

very confusing huh? try turning any page in a book into 'no SHIFT language'

well, today i'll try writing a short summary of what i did today.

'today i went to the bookstore. i read one of my favorite books. then i reread another of my favorite books, after that i ate macaroni7cheese at a place called 'corner bakery' after that, i went to finish a book i was reading, when i wasn't done yet my mom picked me up so we had to go home. then i ate dinner'

okay, so what have we learned about this new language. the part about not capitalizing letters is okay, but the special characters are all converted into strange things.

BYE, I KNOW, YESTERDAY I LOST MY BET. ANYWAY, GOODBYE11111111111

Title fever

I have don't like doing titles I want to name them something short, I have posts called "Jokes" "More Jokes", "Jokes, Jokes Jokes" and so on. I don't like naming creative titles because they are too much work, I'd rather work on the body than the title.

Anyway, (WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO SAY ANYWAY) anyway, Today I had one of the most tiring hiking trips ever, in the whole world. First of all, going up made me sleepy, not tired, but SLEEPY. Going down was worse, it made me feel tired and scared at the same time. Though, as in all hiking trips, at the end you feel really really good.

In the beginning it was really nice, except for the steep slope it felt good being out in the wind and getting the pleasure of hiking, after going down my problems started, I drank to much water and my stomach hurt, I was slowed down and started to feel tired. I eventually caught up again, but a new uphill slope slapped right in front of me created another huge barrier. Every break felt so good, sitting down made me feel like I never wanted to get up again. When I finally reached the end, a huge downhill grade made me feel scared, which systematically slowed me down, I was so slow I had the short cut just to keep me from falling behind too much. After that experience, I just wanted to go back to my bed and sleep forever. One last stroke of effort brought me down to the last downhill slope... and at the end I tripped. that feeling came again, I just wanted to sleep and never get up again. I did, my dad's encouraging words and the desire to go home and sleep (or play video games) brought me up what I thought was the final slope ... only to find another 0.3 miles to the parking lot. On the car, I felt proud of what I did. Thinking about it now, I know my dad helped me through the whole ride.

Books to read

Why do we read books? TO READ THE END, duh. Oh, sorry forgot about the bet again, oh well I can still bring it back, anyway, back to our discussion, Why do we read them well I think we read books because we are hooked, on the sequels we read to find something interesting that will surprise your head out, in my opinion the good stories make you read the whole thing, not just a few installments over and over again. Sometimes when you know the ending, when a character thinks something weird, you want to say, "No this will happen." because that is what happens.

I like to predict what will happen next because, when you are right you think you are so good at these things. Still, my parents like to drag me a lot saying things like, "If you like these books so much, why don't you write your own book." I can't do it, I don't even like my own books but I just LOVE reading them. BYE, by the way.

Yeah, I know I didn't follow the format but I just did with this closing. So now, I can finally say GOODBYE!!

Secret Meadows

Once upon a time there was a Secret Meadow everyone in this world lived in it, from the smallest bug to the largest Giraffe. One day, some creatures decided to see the world above the tranquil place. At about the same time the meadow started to become less and less perfect. A rabbit named Hoppy was brave enough to come out and see the world around them. All she could see was the peaceful green grass and the occasional soft breeze that tickled her feet. Once she went out she couldn't see anything except barren yellow sugar. Or at least that was what she thought it was, one taste and she spit it right out. Traveling farther she noticed some smoke. What is that? she was thinking, what is this, and what happened here? She traveled all across the world and yet all she could see was yellow, it was so dry and hot, but it always rained just when she needed it. In the distance, she saw some strange creatures, one she never had seen before. They looked a lot like turtles only larger and older. She greeted them, "Hello, what are you doing out here?"

"We are staying here in this uncomfortable world, until our friends come back to get us."
"Why?"
"They are in space trying to bring water to our desert world."
"Then come with me my meadow is paradise for all of you!!"
After that they went, but nothing changed, and soon the desert started coming in and overlapping into the meadow, and the creatures were forced to smaller and smaller areas. Finally, Hoppy lead them all into the desert. The rain followed them, and the water made the whole desert a happy place for all the creatures to play in.

Weird feelings

Hi today I'm going to talk about weird feelings, specifically dejavu (did I spell it right?). How does it work exactly? I don't like it. By the way, remember our bet yesterday? Now, you are probably thinking why I put this line of words straight into my post explaining? (I really like to guess what you think). Anyway (hey don't you see a pattern) now we shall go on to the main post.

I have one guess about how it works. First you put something small in your short term memory. After you hear about it again, you felt like it already happened because the short term memory has replayed in your head. My opinion is that it is something I would rather not have. I don't like that feeling of doing something over and over again.

So in summary (what did I say about patterns), I don't like feeling something that shouldn't be true in real life and not in a dream. Goodbye, oh, and by the way, if you see a post labeled "Story" it doesn't count towards the bet. Goodbye (For real this time).

Games

Yeah, yeah you know what I'm going to say, you think this is just a random post and I'm writing this just to say that I finished my homework for today. You think that I don't know how many repetitive posts. You probably also think that you can guess what I'm going to write ("I like games, games are fun,  I want to play them right now. In fact, I'm playing them right now. When I'm done I get to play them. Yay!" And what not.) But you're wrong.  Oh I can guess what you're thinking now. You probably still think I'm not putting much effort and typing random things just to get the job done.  You also think this will be like the other post when I said you were wrong, made a bet about not ending it, and stuff. However, whatever theory you believe you are WRONG!!!!!! (Except if you thought I was going to do theory one or two) Just kidding, no wait you are write if you guessed theory number 2.

Today I am blogging about creating games, a few times I tried and failed to learn a programming language, this time however, I recently learned a lot because I had the patience to read a long book, instead of assuming it would be fun or short, which, sadly it was not.  Then I tried it, yesterday and today I was trying really hard to make one, and I think I'm almost there. I hope I can do it.

From now on when I write something like this, the first paragraph will be an intro with lots of reader-author interaction. The next few will be the main post, the last will be a closing with goodbyes. (Also to make it seem more like a formal writing piece, even if the topic is Textese or Slang) My current closing right now is explaining how my posts will be from now on. In closing, I want to offer another bet: how long can I keep this new format. See you next time!

The "Library"

Today we went to the Richard Nixon presidential library. The idea was brought in by my mom. I decided to go because I thought it was an actual library. It wasn't, so I had to enjoy the museum. Our tour started in the theater where we watched a video about his life. After that we went seeing his birthplace, helicopter, burial site, and a replica of the White House room. I learned a lot, and enjoyed the feeling of the place. When I left, I was sad to go, even though in the morning I wanted to leave the whole time. I liked the ending and the quotes about it, so now I feel recalling it, I liked our experience today.

Our family athletic Competition

Today we went to the park to play. After a "crazy" ride on a tire swing, and a game of hide and seek where my sisters cheated in, our family had a competition to see who was the number 1 athletic person. The first contest was uphill running, which my sister won. My family started commenting that jumping over the fence (which I did) was not as smart as going through it (which my sister did), in which we tested and saw that I was not as smart as my sister. Then we did long distance running, I lost both rounds and Mom won both rounds. Then we had gymnastics everyone but my two sisters failed. After that we had a climbing contest, my older sister won. So in summary, my Older Sister won every contest except for Running. We deemed her the "fittest person in our family!!"

Another boring break

Hello, this is boring break 2.0 AKA, the current break: Winter Break. Just so you know don't expect me to turn around my feelings about my boredom on the last few sentences, which as you know, happens in every single post where I say something is really boring. Say "Great Job" to me because, in this post I am not going to do that. Now that you've congratulated me I'll tell you that it was for nothing: because, well ... you'll see in a while. Hmmm... maybe it wasn't so boring after all. See, that was it: I said it but not in the last few sentences!!! Wait that was almost the last few sentences. I guess the last 4 still does count as the "Last Few". Anyway, it is 5 sentences now. Whatever, on with the post.  First of all, we haven't done anything fun together. All it has been so far was: play, play, eat, work, eat, sleep etc. Also, we haven't had any events, wait we had one today, a park "playdate". I just realized another reason: it just feels like it! In the night I am waiting for morning: in the morning I'm waiting for night. Wow I guess that was a lot of sentences. I kept my promise!!

Memorizing poems

How do people memorize things? It works in a strange way. Not all of it is based on length. Other factors such as: repetition, grouping, association, rhyming, sensibility (how much it makes sense), and the content of the poem affect how easily a thing can be memorized.

Length probably plays the biggest role, however 20 words with equality of the other factors compared to 24 words might not be any different. On the other hand, memorizing 60 words with minor small word mistakes is over 100 times harder than 5 word of exact precision, simply because memorizing one sentence is nearly as hard, or even easier to memorize than a single word.

Repetition plays a relatively small role, but it can make two lines seem like one. If a whole poem only changed a single word on the end (with all the other words staying the same) then it would be as easy as if it was a simple list. One big example is "If" by Rudyard Kipling.

Grouping actually does the most when it is not used to much. One word per line (with many lines) is only slightly harder that one single long line. In small amounts, simply moving words around while making the poem seem longer is very easy to increase the difficulty a notch. In the end though, not that much of a difference.

Association, the next one is all about how you can relate to it which ties into the content of the poem. One example is if you know a phrase, and that phrase appears in the poem you unlock the gate with one word and the other words just come naturally: effectively decreasing the poem's length.

A poem that does not make sense is super hard to memorize. If a poem was entirely written of Old English or a language that uses the same words in different ways, or written from slang. Once you do understand you can use the story to direct the poem or memorize the front words and Associate the words with each other. You can easily memorize poems!

My 2015 Thanksgiving Vacation

First of all, let me get something clear. This is not not not not not not not not not  a Thanksgiving Vacation. I did it on Saturday and Sunday. So technically, you could do it on any other weekend. My other choice of titles could've been "My Vacation to Joshua Tree National Park," but I was there for about 3 and 1/2 hours. We spent 2 hours at a MALL outlet that sells luxury products! We spent 4 hours on the drive, 4 hours at a hot spring, 4 hours awake at a hotel, therefore we spent a whopping 1/4 of the time on vacation at Joshua Tree National Park. And that's not even counting how long we were asleep, not to mention the fact that we weren't paying much attention to the park but rather other forms of ... entertainment.

But enough on the title, now we can talk about what I actually did on this 2 day 1 night vacation. My mom had been planning for 2 days before we left so I could say that she was excited and didn't want to wait until the last minute. So, you can see that this vacation was already off to a bad start. On Friday I was confused, thinking we were supposed to go on Friday. So, I got a late start on packing. I caught up and did preparations.  The next day I woke up at 7:00 a.m.  I was not used to it because lately I had been sleeping to 10:00 in order to catch up on sleep lost from school. We managed to leave at 8:30. We drove 2 hours from our house and we landed in our destination, a town called Desert Hot Springs (Whoa, what tourist attraction would be here?). We ate lunch. Went to a hot springs. Then we went to eat dinner. Then we watched T.V. . We then went to a boring concert that started 20 minutes off schedule. Then we slept. I complained the whole time about the restaurant we went to. Boring day, but actually pretty fun, it was better than my other days during break. The next day we went to Joshua Tree it was actually not that exciting but I got to climb rocks. Then, we went to a MALL OUTLET boring, not a single bookstore. I was bored. All I could do was eat and shop, NIGHTMARE. But I found a map of the town I lived in, all the was upstate, WHOA! I was happy. The most significant reason that I like this vacation was not where we went but the map that I found. Anyway, I heard a theory that people only remember the vacations that areN'T perfect but the ones that had rough edges. I suppose that is true.
